Thanks Momma! I finally ordered my new computer today. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s better than the one I have and should be good for atleast 2-3 years! LOL I was on a limited budget so I couldn’t go all out, but then again I wouldn’t know what was a good deal or not even if I had thousands of dollars to spend. I should be receiving it Wednesday or Thursday and my monitor (which is ordered separate) should arrive a day or two later.
I also upgraded my Microsoft Office Software today. Jerry just up and bought it on a window shopping trip this morning! He’s the greatest I tell ya. Even though he has no clue what it is I do online or why I need the software he trusts that I will make good use of the $150 expenditure. Now, I just can’t seem to contain the urge to install it and play around, but I must wait! LOL Hopefully it will pour rain all weekend and I can sit down and play with my new pc! Keep your fingers crossed. Ya know, actually I hope it doesn’t pour because then I’ll have everyone in the house and nothing will get accomplished! (wink wink)
Now all I need to get my new domain names up and going is my XSitePro software. That will come later to the tune of $197. Gotta get my teeth taken care of first!
Anyhow, I’m off to brainstorm about a new business idea I have so I’ll catch ya later tators!!!
In another disappointing Wednesday on American Idol, Elliott Yamin (conductor of the E-train) was voted off! I only have one question for America. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!!
Yes, I have right to complain because I voted 120 times for Elliott! LOL
Elliott clearly deserved to go on to the final round over Katherine. No, I’m not just saying that because I am from Virginia and I felt I had to back the hometown boy, cause I liked him before I even knew he was from VA.
He is so much more deserving. He has a heart of gold, loves his mama and can sing his bootie off!! Katherine on the other hand should have left a long time ago, maybe after she messed up and forgot her lyrics (not once but twice might I add). Better yet, she should have went the second this all started going to her head! Don’t get me wrong she can sing, but come on she beat Chris & Elliott…something just ain’t right here folks!
All I have to say now is: Elliott You are AWESOME! You keep that huge heart and soul you have and you will go further than even Idol could have taken you!
Oh yeah, one more thing: GO TAYLOR & the Soul Patrol!
I’m off to the dentist later this morning and anyone who knows me knows that normally I don’t mind going to the dentist, even to have a tooth extracted. Today however, I’m a bit nervous. I am awful about going to the dentist and usually when I go it’s because I HAVE to due to the fact that I’ve waited too long and I have no choice.
I have a tooth/gum that has been bothering me for years but I am going to the dentist before it gets to the point I am pacing the floors and crying uncontrollably! I’ll be honest, with the luck I’ve had in the past and my genes (thanks Mom! LOL) I know that I’m going to eventually end up with dentures so my thought is why not just take them all now and get it over with and save me thousands of dollars!! I know I know it’s not good to do that and if you can keep your own teeth it’s so much better, but I’m tired of slowly but surely losing the ones I do have!!
I’ll update on what happens later this evening…if I’m not out in never neverland that is!
I am a relatively new listener to various internet talk radio shows and a faithful listener to WAHMTalkRadio. Every Monday, once the house is cleaned and the baby is down for his nap I listen to the show.
This week the show’s host, Kelly McCuasey, paid a special tribute for Mother’s Day. She interviewed children of all ages whose moms work at home! It was one of the sweetest, most adorable things I’ve heard. If you haven’t heard it do it I tell ya! Even if you aren’t a work at home mom you will love this show. Whatcha waiting on? Click here to listen and get your awwwwww fix today!!
Kelly, if you’re reading this thanks a bunch for this adorable show!
Happy Mother’s Day Momma! Happy Mother’s Day to Mildred, Wendy, Tia, Heather, and all the other Mom’s out there who make the world go ’round! This post is dedicated to my Mom, Lea Ann. I hope you are reading this today Mom.
Although we aren’t together today I wanted you to know that I am thinking of you, not just today, but every single day. You have no idea just how important you are to me. Even when 800 miles separate us, you are always in my heart.
I wish that things could be different and you could be closer. There is nothing I would enjoy more than having you near to share coffee with in the mornings, get advice from, laugh and cry with, and watch my fellas grow. As much as I would love that, I realize and respect the reasons that you can’t be here with us. You have done your job as a mother and now it’s time for all of your children to spread their wings and fly on their own. You deserve to be happy and I truly hope that you are, no matter where it is!
I have been doing a lot of reflecting lately and sometimes I just can’t believe that I now have 2 children and a neice and a nephew too! I can still remember singing “Runaway Train” with you and the boys on the daily drive from Crawfordsville to Covington so many years ago. Although much of my childhood is a blur or not there at all in my mind, I will never forget how, no matter what happened, the 4 of us stuck together. We always knew, and still do I hope, that we had 3 shoulders to lean on if we needed it.
You’ve been by my side for all of the good things and bad in my life. You supported me when no one else did, even when in your heart you knew it wasn’t the right thing for me to do. You understood that I had to make the mistakes in order to learn & appreciate the life lessons I would take from them. For that I thank you from the bottom of my heart! You have shown me that the most important thing you can do as a mother is teach your children that they have a mind of their own and they should never been ashamed to use it!
I know this is going to be a particularly hard Mother’s Day for you it being the first without Gran Gran, but please know that she is with you each and every day! She was proud to have you as her daughter and the lessons she taught you will live on in not only your children but your grandchildren as well. She was a very strong woman and one that I can only hope to be like.
I feel the same about you mom. There have been hard times when I wanted to just give up, but because of the strength and love that you have given me I didn’t and today I’m better for it! I can only hope that I am half the mother you have been!
Happy Mother’s Day from all of us! We love you!

Call me crazy, but I absolutely love to watch David Blaine’s stunts and magic. I remember as a kid watching David Copperfield on television and I guess that’s where the original interest in magic and illusions started.
Last night on ABC I watched his Drowned Alive special and I was amazed. His hope with this special was to hold his breath under water for 9 minutes to beat the current record of 8 minutes and 58 seconds. He didn’t manage to break that record (he made it just over 7 minutes), but I wouldn’t call him a failure by any means. Every thing on the news and in the media, even David himself, today is calling it a failure and I disagree completely. He may not have accomplished what he set out to do (as far as the public is concerned), but he did accomplish other things. The least of which, he spent 7 days underwater in a huge aquarium like bubble, which broke a record.
David Blaine has been called a magician, a stunt man, an illusionist, just to name a few. Many people think it’s a waste of time and energy and wonder why a mother of 2 would waste her time watching something like this. It’s more than just his stunts that I enjoy. I know that he is an entertainer, but I truly believe that his main purpose is a good one. I honestly believe that he is making a difference in the world, despite all the non-believers and nay sayers! He brings people of all types together and that to me is a magnificent accomplishment. He shows people that they set their own limits. Yes, he pushes himself and his body and some just don’t get this. Is it not said that you should live life to the fullest? David Blaine is doing just that!
Last night really hit me when he was rescued from the water and came up and still wanted to speak to the crowd. Through tears he told the fans that he was humbled and thanked them for their support and helping him make it through the last week. David Blaine is one of a kind in my eyes.
Are you a work at home mom with her own business? If so, you have probably experienced what we WAHMs like to call Work at Home Burn Out!
Today on Wahm Talk Radio, Kelly talks about just this. I’m a faithful listener to Kelly’s show every Monday and I can definitely relate to today’s show topic. I’ve found myself extremely burnt out with my business a few times. When I find myself at this point I do exactly what Kelly recommends: “Step Away from the Computer!” LOL It’s not easy trust me, but it’s well worth it in the end.
The main reason I get burnt out is because I know what I need to do and I have all the plans in place, but I have to wait on a little thing called MONEY to take the next step. Every time I get some extra cash I find a way to apply it to my business, but it takes baby steps to get where I need to be and I’m not a naturally patient person. I take a whole day, or two, off and focus on things that I’ve let go like house or yard work and spending quality time with the boys. Focusing and getting those things straight gives me a renewed outlook on my business and usually by the time I get back to business I have found a way to make the moola I’m lacking to get the things I need so that I can move to the next level of my business.
So, if you find yourself getting burnt out don’t wait until it’s totally controlling and you are completely fried to do something, because by then it may be too late. Take some well deserved time off and enjoy life. Business will wait for you, I promise!
