Elliott CD & Video for You

This is my 2nd try at this post, because my youngest DS decided to hit some buttons on my keyboard as I was typing it and I lost everything in the first one…so TAKE 2!

I FINALLY got my Elliott Yamin CD last Sunday. After a whole month checking and near crying because every time I went to buy it it was sold out, I finally own it! It’s mine!!

I think I embarrassed hubby when I bought it to, but OH WELL! I made my way to the electronics section, secretly praying to God that it would be there. I looked in the New Releases and Top Hits sections and no Elliott staring back at us. Well, I wasn’t giving up, so as I had done every other time, I made my way down the alphabetized aisle to the Y’s and low and behold there he was! To my surprise there were 2 copies of the CD so I reached over (this is where hubs got about 10 shades of red I’m sure, but I wasn’t really paying attention because all my thoughts were on Elliott at the moment.) and snatched up my copy. There was a cardboard thingee behind the CD and when I grabbed it in all my excitement, I sent the cardboard piece flying out into the aisle. :) I just kept saying, Oh Oh Oh! and grinning from ear to ear, the biggest grin I think I’ve ever had on my face.

I have a feeling I’m going to wear this CD out, because it has been played so much. If I’m in the van, it’s in the CD player, if I’m in the house, it’s in my pc playing!

I don’t have a favorite song, they are all awesome and I’m not just saying that. But IF I HAVE to pick one I have to say that “Movin’ On” and “One Word”, You Are the One”, and “I’m the Man” are probably the best! Yes, I know that was 4, not one, but sue me, I can’t help it. This boy’s got talent and it shows in EVERY song on the CD. To quote Elliot himself “One word…AMAZING!”

The two really up beat, songs on the CD prove what Paula Abdul told Elliott on Idol, “You’re one funky white boy!” I love the hip hop feel and I was pleasantly surprised when I heard them because he does the club type songs just as well as the bluesy, soul filled ones.

Hubby likes the song “Alright” and the boys even jam to it when we’re in the van. My 19 month old has even tried to learn to snap his fingers when “Movin’ On” is playing! How cute is that? He must remember watching Idol with me in Season 5 and have his mama’s taste in music. Good Boy!

Now, I’m off to work so I can some extra money, because Elliott will be in Richmond and in Norfolk next month and I’m going to do EVERYTHING I can to be at at least one of the shows. That and I need to earn some money because I just found out there is a Elliott Yamin (2 CD Set) out that has 2 bonus tracks on it and I MUST have it! :)

Here’s a video of Elliott’s debut single from his album, “I’ll Wait for You!” Check it out, you’ll love it! And if you don’t, what’s wrong with you? ;)

I’m Not Smarter Than a 5th Grader

We’ve missed the last few episodes of the show, “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader“, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, but when we do get to see it, Jerry, Zach and I LOVE it. It’s one of the few shows that all of us sit down to watch together.

I was taking a break from work (I can’t remember the last time I did this)and decided to catch up on some Mommy Blogs, that I have neglected and so desperately missed over the past few weeks ok, so it’s months :( really this morning. I started over at my friend Amanda’s blog, (who by the way I’m jealous of because she is going to Hillbilly Days this weekend).

Next, I found my way to my other friend, Marie Ynami’s blog (via the link announcing she won the Mom Idol Singing Contest…congrats Marie you sound great!). I listened to Marie sing, girl if that’s how you sound PMSing, then you must sound AWESOME on a normal day! ;)

After hearing Marie, I wanted to hear the other winners so I jumped back (thanks to that handy dandy back button) to Amanda’s blog and went through the list, but couldn’t find where the other ladies had posted their audios! Needless to say I was sad, but when I came across the 4th place winner Ruth’s blog, Patton Family Musings, I was happy again! Thank you Ruth.

I read her post about the show and I just had to know if I WAS smarter than a fifth grader! LOL…most of you will know the answer to this question I think.

Head over and find out if you have bragging rights because, unlike myself, you ARE smarter than a 11 year old!

And if at first you don’t succeed try again with this one! 2nd Chance Smarter Than a 5th Grader Quiz

Let me know how you come out! And by the way for those that must know, on the first quiz I was only 40% smarter…on the second however, which was easier and had a few of the same questions I was 80% smarter. Hey, atleast I learn from my mistakes, right? Besides, who really needs to know how many sides a trapezoid has?

Let Them Know You Care Wear Orange & Maroon Today

In honor of those who were so suddenly and tragically taken from this Earth this past Monday, today the nation mourns. To support those who lost their loved ones as well as to boost up their spirits a bit, please wear your orange and maroon today!

I was going to write a post about Monday, April 16, 2007’s horrible tragedy, but to be honest, by now I really don’t think I could say anything that hasn’t already been said and I refuse to give the shooter what he wanted by spreading the word of his heinous act, so instead I will just say that my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Blacksburg and their friends and families! My heart goes out to each and everyone of you and may God be with you and see you through your losses. My prayers have been and will continue to be sent for you!

You are a very strong bunch, after all: YOU ARE VA TECH HOKIES!!

We will all be sporting our colors in this family and I’ll hopefully get everyone together for a pic at the same time at some point and post later! ;)

Listerine Agent Cool Blue Recall

Don’t have much time to post this morning, trying to get some work done before the boys get up for the day, but wanted to post about the Listerine Agent Cool Blue Recall. Thanks to Becky for posting this so that I could read it while I was checking email and blogs during my “wake up” cup of coffee! Yes I have to wake up before I start working, that’s just the way it goes! LOL

Zach uses this and I thought it was the coolest thing and actually worked to keep him brushing his teeth. Guess that means back to the constant reminding until he FINALLY gets it hu? ;)

Here is the link for anyone who may have this and need to request a refund: http://www.agentcoolblue.com/. You’ll have to fill out a form and mail it in to receive your refund.
