“This cracked me up!”
My friend just sent me this link Marketing Comics and it cracked me up. As an Internet Marketing business owner, you may feel like nobody outside your online buddies understand exactly what you do all day at home. And, sometimes you feel a bit like an alien trying to tell people stories about your day-to-day life.
Well, Jimmy D. Brown hit a home run. He’s created 15 comics about what it’s like to be an Internet Marketer. Some will make you laugh out loud and some will make you groan, but all are worth taking a minute to peek at.
Totally free and totally funny.

Marketing Comics Crack Me Up!

Today’s free for all is something not only that I want you to know about, but I KNOW can be done. As a VA (virtual assistant) a good portion of my tasks involve editing and proofing these types of reports for my clients…but that’s not all.Right now you might be thinking, “That’s fine and dandy, Arika that you edit them and your clients put them up for sale, but how do you KNOW they actually sell?”
I’ll tell you exactly how I know!
I have also been on the “inside” and have seen proof that these reports sell and sell well. So, if you’re a decent writer or have access to a ghostwriter that can put them together for you, I highly suggest you grab this week’s freebie and learn how you can make money online by creating small reports!

I love you Jerry!
Yeah it’s another Elliott video. Just couldn’t help myself tonight with the preggo hormones takin’ over!
Nicole Dean, one of my bestest buds in the whole world, tagged me to play along in this blog meme where I tell you all a bit about my blogging/online life. As if Nicole didn’t already know enough!
So, here goes for those inquiring minds.
1. How long have you been blogging?Wow! I surprised myself on this one when I had to look back to find the answer to this one. I started blogging in July 2005, right here on this very blog. I was so new and green to the Internet world and it showed.
2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?Nell Taliercio has a site called MommysPlace.net, that used to have an awesome forum and that’s where I first heard of blogging. Being the broke mama that I was I wanted a way to get online making some money and blogging was it. I was pregnant with Hunterman at the time and so the blog posts were few and far between, but now, over 2 years later, I’m getting better!I have too many mentors to mention when it comes to blogging, but the blogging expert Lynette Chandler, is absolutely one of them.
3. Are you trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun? Both. I DO make money online and I DO have bunches of fun doing it!
4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE about being online.
- Friends - I’ve made some really good friends online and I cherish those friendships very much so.
- Learning - Every day I learn something new to keep the brain functioning.
- The ability to make a living while staying home.
5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE with in the online world.
- Keeping up with all the new and changing things going on. I finally realized that I don’t have to have everything as soon as it hits the Internet…imagine that!
- Finding time to work with a busy toddler and now a pregnancy, it’s not an easy task.
- Learning to cut the computer off…I love what I do and I would absolutely spend too much time working (and playing) online if I didn’t have the guys keeping me grounded.
Ok, now it’s you’re turn:

The Wahmmy’s Family of Elves
Here’s a super simple dessert that I personally make every year at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I actually was taught how to make it when I was a little girl by my mom and have loved it ever since. I guess you could call it my signature recipe. I’m sure there are other people who make it, but since I’m not really a cook and I like things sweet and simple, it’s perfect for me.
Cherries in the Snow
What You’ll Need:
1 can cherry pie filling
1 tub of Cool Whip
1/2 small bag of mini marshmallows
Pecans, peanuts or walnuts (optional)
Fool-Proof Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and stir until marshmallows and nuts are completely coated with Cool Whip and cherry pie filling, turning everything a light shade of pink. Cool until ready to serve.
This week’s tip comes from Nicole Dean of Nicole On the Net.
No More Working in Chaos
Make your office a “no toy zone”. Your office is your turf. Protect it. If you have little office helpers, then establish one area that can have toys, perhaps a basket or drawer – and don’t let it spread.
——-
This is one I have to really work on. With the youngest home with me all day, almost everyday, my office tends to become his very own toy haven. Due to the fact that my office is right off the livingroom and is the first thing you see when you walk in our front door, there are 2 more reasons it shouldn’t be so chaotic.
I used to have a totally separate room for my office before Hunter came along, but that became his bedroom and then when we started the remodel on the extra bedroom, we moved him into Zach’s room. Once the baby gets here, there will be no more free space for mom to work, so it’s all right here in the open.
I’ll let you know how things are progressing as I tackle this week’s work at home tip….slowly but surely!
How about you, do you have a kid-free zone to work in at home? If so, how do you keep it from becoming the playroom?
