Tackle it Tuesday - A Wahmmy First

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Tackle it Tuesday from 5MinutesforMom.com has been around forever, but this is the first time I’ve participated in it. No pictures this week as my camera batteries are…you guessed it…dead! But my goal is to post a before and after picture for following week’s tackling projects.

Today here is what I HOPE to accomplish:

  1. Write a bunch of articles for one client.
  2. Customer service for 2 clients.
  3. Connect with my assistant to go over how to use DupeFreePro.
  4. Clean my office - oh how those tornadoes come through here in no time.
  5. Get the leftovers (drywall, ladders, etc.) from our bathroom remodel out of the house. This is so annoying to me. Looking at it since May has just sickened me to no end and the worst part…the bathroom still isn’t completely finished!
  6. Do 3 loads of laundry. (The first in ready to dry now!)

Ok, that’s all that’s on my list for today - well it’s all that is on my list that I believe I can accomplish. Be back next week to let you know how it went.

Text Messaging = Ignore Mom What??

Check this out.  Teens/Tweens using the text messaging feature on their cell phones to avoid “talking” to their parents.

Just one reason my 10 yo won’t have a cell anytime soon. :)

Now I have to admit I have done this before just because I don’t feel like “talking” on the phone, but I also don’t have to answer to my mother or father anymore. But I also don’t like talking on the phone in the first place, especially since I’m at a computer all day and can probably type faster than talk now-a-days anywho! ;)

For those of you with kids with cellphones, do you think your kids have done this to you?

For those like me whose kiddos aren’t old enough or don’t have a cell, do you have text capabilities on your phone and have you been guilty of avoiding real conversation in exchange for text messaging?

TMT: Smiling is Her Favorite Past Time

Today marks babygirl’s 3 month birthday! My how time flies the more kids you have.

In yesterday’s WW post, All Smiles, she was doing just that, smiling to her heart’s content. Other than sleeping, smiling has quickly become her favorite thing to do. She especially gets a kick out of her daddy giving her Eskimo kisses and anyone saying “DaDa” to her. She’s got him wrapped already I tell ya…This girl is GOOD! :)

Want to Work at Home? Break Into Wahminess the Same Way I Did!

Writing is the bulk of my VA business and is how I got my start working online. I love to write and honestly I don’t think I would have learned as much as I have about Internet marketing (and as quickly as I have) if it weren’t for writing for online business owners.

I’ve been working on something big for my business, and although I can’t let the cat out of the bag just yet, I will tell you that during the learning/planning stages I’ve gained a client who is looking to hire an intern for her writing business.

So, if you’re interested in becoming a work at home mom check this out, but HURRY because I know it won’t take her long to fill the position due to the number of moms who would kill for an opportunity like this one. And, the deadline for submitting your application is August 1st!

Deja Vu Everywhere These Days

Well I have felt like I’m a kid again here lately and the timing honestly is a bit ironic since I just turned 30 last week. Which by the way I am LOVING!

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that the New Kids On The Block are back! Yes, I was a New Kid’s Junkie! :)

They have a cool website up and are even going on tour again starting this Fall. Seems the closest they will get to me (so far) is DC on October 2nd. Hmmm might just have to consider making that drive for this once in a lifetime chance. ;)

I finally heard their new song, Summertime, on the radio on the other day and I have to say I love it! Was going to post the video from YouTube on here but embedding is disabled (smart marketing move guys but it does sadden me). Well you know me, I kept lookin’ and found one for you, cause I know you are dying to see it right?

- I love how it starts with my fave Donnie Wahlberg…he just got hotter as the years went on, hu? And gotta love the infamous New Kid’s arm wave! ha ha!

Then, just this morning I was watching Twitter messages and saw a post from kirtsy saying that Shannen Doherty was going to sign on to play a role in 90210 (the spin off of my favorite show as a teen, Beverly Hills 90210). Well I just had to check it out of course.

Yep, it’s true the CW is bringing 90210 back in a whole new light and many of the original cast members will be returning.

Talk about a day for bringing back memories!

Operation Video Game All Day: Wahmmy Don’t Think So!

Ah the sounds of summer…2 yo running around like a crazy kid, 2 month old peacefully swinging, sleeping (or both) and 10 yo clack clacking away on his video game controller.  All the while with mom cleaning, chasing, or if she’s lucky, working.

It’s summer break and officially summer on the calendar now and I have to find something to do this summer other than stay inside and loaf every day.  Yes, I’m a bad mother! As much as Zach may not like it, there will be other things to do around here for the next few months. Unfortunately, other than taking the kiddos to the park and doing some crafty activities, I’m not exactly sure what that will be. I can easily amuse Sierra and Hunter, but I’ve got to find things that will amuse a 10 year old boy too.

Here are just a couple of things I thought about doing this summer with the kids.

Going to the library once a week.
Zach has a list of books that are great for summer reading and he’s really gotten out of reading lately and I want to get him interested in more than just the movie version again.

Work in the garden.
We’ve started a garden this year with hubster’s parents.  I think a good lesson in weed picking, watering and all around taking care of something will do the boys some good. Sierra can just soak up the fresh air in her stroller. Lucky gal! :)

Chores
Yes, it might be summer break, but with all fun must come some work too. We don’t want lazy dormant children now do we? Each of the boys will have chores to do every day. Some days less than others, but they will contribute in one way or another. Again, Sierra gets to just sit back and watch. I told you she was spoiled. ;)

So, who has other ideas to keep 2 boys of 8 years age difference occupied all summer long? Lay ‘em on me ladies and gents! Help Me Keep My Kids Happy, Learning & Having Fun This Summer!
