Sometimes I just sit down and look at my kids and think, “Wow, I am truly blessed. Take tonight for example. I was working on one of my own personal sites. Yah, that does not happen much around here, normally it is client work. So, my daughter comes over and hands me a pair of big bug eyes sunglasses and a totally hot pink headband. And says here mom this is for you. I was like ok, and what do you want me to do with them. She gives me the sweeties smile and says, “Mom you are a rock star. You know what to do with them!” So I did it. I put on my rock star outfit and became ROCK STAR MOMMY!
When was the last time you put on your rock star outfit and became a rock star? So many times we forget that our kids are young and enjoy our company. They need us to spend time with them, play with them, and have fun. I personally love using my imagination and playing pretend with my kids.
In the last three weeks I have been a princess, a rock star, a astronaut, and daughter (she was the mommy), a customer at a restaurant, and a scuba driver. What have you been lately? Have you gotten down on the floor and wrestled with your kids? They seem to really love to wrestle and tickle.
I know from experience that there are times when you just don’t think you have the time to play with your kids. Or you have a stack of projects you just have to get done and then you will play with the kids. But do you know what? Take that time. Stop what you are doing and make memories. Get down on the ground and play. Put on your crown and walk around the house like you are the queen and your children are your princesses and princes. Your projects or whatever you are doing can and will wait but your kids are going to grow up right in front of your eyes and you need to take advantage of those wonderful times.

Great post Arika! You Rock Star you
This was definitely an eye opener to me that I don’t spend enough time just goofing around with my son especially lately because I’ve been so stressed out. About the only thing I’ve been lately is mean mommy
I think tomorrow night is going to be all about him and all about fun! Thanks again for the reminder that we do need to goof around and have fun with our kids!

Thanks Tishia, but I didn’t write this post – Tricia did. She’s one of our newest Wahmmies here.
That’s her in the pic too – how cool is that hu?
I agree I find myself being the strict mommy too much and not playing around enough. It’s time I became a kid again and played, played, played!
