Moms: How to Find Recipes That you Can Add to Your Blog

If you’re like many mom bloggers, you may run out of things to talk about on occasion. Or maybe you just get tired and don’t feel like chatting some days, but you know you need an active blog if you’re going to make money — and many bloggers rely on their blog income to feed their families. So, how do you attract more readers and the search engines to your blog on a daily basis? Easy! Add a recipe of the day to keep your blog fresh and tasty. But, where do you find recipes that you can use? Before I tell you the answer, let’s get the legal stuff out of the way.

To keep from violating any copyright laws, you can not just take recipes out of cookbooks or magazines and type them into your blog. You’ll absolutely want to be sure that any recipe you use does not contain the original directions word for word. Both recipe instructions and recipe collections may be copyright protected. Therefore, you have to use other options.

So, what are the other ways to find recipes that you can use?

Your Recipes

We all have recipes that we make on a regular basis at home. Maybe a favorite dish that is easy to make and everyone loves? Do you have a specialty? Or just a handful of favorite dishes?

If so, type them into your blog. They are yours to do with as you wish. Anything that you pull directly from your own head — is free to use on your blog.

Aunts, Grandma & Friends

Does your family have a recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation? How about something your favorite Aunt brings to Christmas dinner every year that everyone loves?

Ask your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. to contribute their favorite recipes to your collection.

Hire a Writer

The second method that I’d like to share is to hire a ghostwriter to write articles for you. Now, many people don’t think about using a ghostwriter in this way, but it can certainly save you much time — that you could spend in other ways.

PLR Recipes

I’ve saved the best for last. My favorite way to get recipes for your blog is to buy PLR or private label rights recipes for your use. Why do I love PLR so much?

  1. You aren’t stuck coming up with all of the recipes yourself.
  2. You don’t have to pay the big bucks for a writer.
  3. You can change the recipes as much or as little as you’d like.
  4. You can reuse the recipes on multiple blogs. You can do almost anything with them, even create your own cookbook that you can sell.
  5. You can get a lot of PLR recipes for cheap. Some PLR sites sell them for less than a dollar each.
(Every PLR service has its own rules, so check it out before buying.)

One last tip: For best results, edit your PLR recipes to personalize them. An easy way to do this is:

  • Modify the directions.
  • Give the title a bit of pizazz.
  • Add a suggestion for the reader. Perhaps recommend a great wine (or beer) for the meal or a side dish.

Now you know how very easy it is to add a recipe section to your blog. I hope you’ll consider getting started right away so you can attract hungry readers.

Get tasty PLR recipes each month. Just compile them and Viola! You’ll have a ready made cookbook that you can sell from your blog. Need a way to make more with your blog? Check out the Menu Planning Affiliate Program
