Ok, I’ll get right to it mamas…the Holidays are stressful! We’re all running in different directions all year long. Our lives have gotten so busy that most of us don’t celebrate Christmas for what it’s supposed to be. Instead it’s become commercialized, a way to go into debt and let’s face it, it’s become unappreciated.

The other day I was watching a movie on the Hallmark channel, which if you don’t know has some great Christmas movies and they play all holiday stuff all day long, so the majority of our TV time around here lately, on the weekends especially, is spent watching that channel. Anyway, the movie we watched was called Christmas in Canaan. The entire movie was very touching, but one part that stuck out to me was the Christmas morning scene. I won’t give it away but it really gets to the heart of what the Christmas Spirit is all about – and it isn’t the presents. It’s about spending time together, doing what you can without breaking the bank, and so much more. If you get a chance, I highly suggest you watch this movie.

Now, this movie is not what this post is about. As I said earlier, it’s time to get back to what Christmas is really about. Time to slow down the hectic, craziness of every day life, remove the stress that we as moms go through every year when it comes to the holidays, and really ENJOY the holidays together. Not to mention, teach your children that it’s not all about how much money people spend on the gifts under the tree.

I’ve got something for you today that will help you do just that.

My good friend, Tracy Roberts of Moms in a Blog, has put together a book all about creating cherished Christmas memories with your family. These type of memories aren’t like the ones most people think of nowadays. You know the ones, where the day after Christmas (or New Years Day if you’re really lucky) everything is forgotten. Oh no, these memories will last a lifetime and create a foundation that allows you (Mom) to enjoy and even look forward to the holidays just like you did when you were a kid.

Here’s exactly what you’ll find inside

  • * Grow closer as a family while instilling strong values about things like giving, empathy, and  thoughtfulness.
  • * Yummy recipes for holiday treats that the family can make together.
  • * Rein in the season while having fun the whole time.
  • * Handle sticky situations you’d rather ignore, but can’t.
  • * Make the holidays last much longer than just one day.
  • * Give gifts that don’t cost an arm and leg, and are much more appreciated.
  • * Make visits with the neighbors, relatives, and extended family enjoyable again.
  • * Reduce your stress with these tips.
  • * Explore traditions old and new, and make memories that last.
