Day 5 Review

Ok gang – just finished up Day 5 of Fat Loss Quickie! All I can say is:

Sweet, Sweet Squats,
How I Don’t Heart Thee!

I just finished doing 100 squats holding 10 lbs of weight at the same time! Yes, note I said “finished” I did them all.

Normally squats and I don’t get along at all. It kills my knees. Today it hurt a bit, but not like it has in the past so I must be doing something right.

So far the energy I’m experiencing since I started the challenge is above and beyond what I expected. I had extra energy from Day 1…which is one of the biggest reasons I contribute sticking with this program. You know the hole “instant gratification” thing we as humans have?! Yeah, I got it with FLQ (Fat Loss Quickie).

As I mentioned in my post earlier this morning when I updated you on Day 4, I was lazy this weekend and after I posted that Scott let me have it! I’m now labeled “Slacker” over at Nicole’s Computer Butt Challenge. ;0) It’s ok though…that’s just one more thing for me to work towards getting rid of in this challenge. Ahh the opportunities we create for ourselves. HEE HEE – How’s that for seeing the positive!

Scott even got “Mom” on me. Talk about making me step up!

I’m having a ball with this AND getting healthy to boot! YAY Me! YAY YOU! for those already with us. Be sure to leave your thoughts/comments below and let me know how you’re doing. I want to cheer you on so if you’re blogging your journey make sure you include your link.

If you’ve been thinking about joining, whatcha waitin’ on you’re missing all the fun! Head over here to sign up for less than $20 now.

Way to go Arika! See, you were never off track. You’re still motoring along.

Nice to see you adding some resistance to the squats with 10 pound dumbbells. It’s not an easy feat without dumbbells so give yourself a nice pat on the back.

If your knees ever do end up bothering you when doing squats, you could always lean up against a ball on the wall and do your squats that way. I demonstrate that exercise here…

Keep up the great work ‘slacker’ ;)

…and thanks for allowing me to be a part of your successful journey to improved fitness, business, and quality of life.

Aww thanks Scott! Thanks for the tip on the knees too because I’ve always thought maybe I wasn’t doing squats correctly or something bc they hurt.

    Hey there Arika!

Can’t call ya slacker anymore! ;)
Ah, a little good natured ribbin’ is fun, eh?

But, yikes!!! You did 100 squats WITH 10 lbs of weight?! I say that is incredibly challenging! I have to ‘fess up that I didn’t use any weight, as I was a bit nervous about what the squats would do to my lower back. I REALLY REALLY wanted to do all 100 along with Scott and I achieved that goal. :D So, this week I’m adding weight – NOT 10 lbs, but something. Perhaps I’ll use Nicole’s Bush’s Baked Bean cans since she’s graduated to free weights now! The stinker went from two 1.12 ounce cans to two 8 lb weights! I’ll never catch up… :o

Anyway, back to work now that I’ve been re-energized with today’s Fat Loss Quickie. ;)

Nope – Slacker no more! :)

Yes I did 100 squats with 10 lbs of weight TOTAL. 5 lbs each hand. ;) Nik’s got me beat too then if she did 16 lbs.

Way to go for doing the 100 squats even if it was without weights…work your way up. Remember, it’s not a contest with anyone but yourself. Besides, you’ll have 3 more weeks to work up to weights. Each time just push yourself a little further than the last and you’ll make and see improvement.

Uhhh… a few things to clear up here. :)

    1. The Bush’s Baked Beans are 1 POUND not 1 OUNCE. Geez. I’m not that wimpy! (Or was that a mental-pause moment?) lol!

    2. I did the 100 squats with only my massive body weight, no hand weights yet. So, you are the weiner on the squat challenge!

((hugs)) to Arika & my Mama!

Woo Hoo I’ve graduated from a slacker to a weiner! LOL

Hey I don’t care what (if anything) any of us uses – the awesome thing is we ALL did 100 (SERIOUSLY – ONE HUNDRED) squats! Yayy Us!!

  3. Patti Says:

    ooopsie… I meant 1 pound 12 ounce Bush’s Baked Beans… sorry Nicole! :o

Yup, I could never dream of doing squats before challenged by Scott and Nicole… and ya’ll! Now, I’m squattin’ and lovin’ it!

    Whatever that means…

    ;)
