What a Week – Let’s NEVER Repeat Again

Wow, the kids and I all had the worst stomach bug I think I’ve had or seen in a long time this past week. It started Sunday evening with Zach. By mid-week, Zach was better and Hunter had it. The end of the week saw Hunter, Sierra and I all three sick at once. It had me down for the count from Thursday evening until Sunday. Hubby ended up taking Friday and Saturday off of work just to help me with the kids because I was so sick.

It’s not uncommon for the sickies to hit our house every year around this time. With school starting and the weather starting to change we usually get hit with a cold of some sort between September and November. This year it went well beyond a cold it was FULL ON FLU!

I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say that by the time Thursday morning rolled around I was texting a few friends things like:

“Please Stop the Puke.”

“No more throw up. I’ve seen enough already.”

Yeah, it was that bad and at that point only the 2 boys had it. It was a bug that hits you all of the sudden. No warning, just vomiting. YUCK YUCK AND MORE YUCK! Then you feel better, but can hardly stand up without being extremely dizzy and feeling like someone is beating you in the head with a sledge hammer in random spots. Bad I tell you and I don’t wish it on anyone.

Somehow hubs has managed to duck it so far. He’s mentioned feeling bad a few times but so far he’s in the clear. Let’s just hope he stays that way because…let’s just say I’ve dealt with enough sick babies for awhile. ;)

So, we are all pretty much back to normal now and I just want to say that I don’t want to have to go through that ever again. Here’s to a productive and healthy Fall and Winter for our household and yours too!
