Back to School SuppliesHappy Saturday everyone!

Today I was *supposed* to be sitting with my mother in law in her front yard enjoying coffee while selling off a bunch of our crap! Yep, we were originally going to be having a yard sale today! I finally purged my entire house (minus our bedroom) of junk and was going to try and make a little cash to pay for school supplies. Since we now have two young men who will be in school this year. One in preschool – the other in his first year of “middle” school!

Anywho…thanks to my Crackberry (which after talking to my sis yesterday I now wish I hadn’t bought – but that’s a whole other post) for messing up and not making sound, I didn’t wake up like planned at 5:30. Thank goodness Hot Hubby came home from work around 6:30 to make sure I was up. He even helped me get the little ones dressed. Chalk one up for the hubster today. Wondering what he wants. ;)

They had been calling for storms today since yesterday morning, but I thought I’d wait and see because if you know Virginia you know the weather channel is seldom correct. Unless it says 100% chance there’s a good bet no rain will come. Well last night before I went to bed there was an 80% chance of thunderstorms, but I still was holding out hope.

Just as I had the oldest boy and his buddy load up the plywood into the truck (we were using it as a table) the thunder started rolling and the sky just got darker. I called mama M and we decided that we’d just hold out and do it next weekend. She was up all night anyway and she needed her rest. (Ok, part of me was secretly hoping I didn’t have to rush getting everything loaded in the truck only to be rained on, but still I needed that moola and it would have been a nice to spend the day somewhere other than my office.)

I sat down at my computer and began chatting with my buddy Tracy about some projects we’re putting together and look up and see Mr. Sunshine! Yep, I could have had that freakin’ yard sale anyway! Ah oh well, I look at the bright points in it:

  1. I didn’t get stuck IN the rain!
  2. The kiddos weren’t rushed around by their crazy in a hurry mom.
  3. I got some major brainstorming and planning done and made progress on a couple of new projects.
  4. Hubby called and wants to go out to eat at one of my favorite restaurants! Seriously, I think he wants something just haven’t figured out what it is yet! LOL
  5. I caught up on some Twitter love and found out about this awesome giveaway at SheScribes. Which is the reason for my post today.

She Scribes is giving away a backpack STUFFED with back to school goodies! Hurry though, the contest ends August 31st!

Have a great weekend!

Ha! You’re so funny about Hot Hubby. Crack me up – I totally wonder the same when mine is all nicey nice! I’m so glad you didn’t have to rush around for a stinkin’ yard sale, too! I despise them! I never make decent money at them. My Hot Hubby does, though – but, he has more expensive toys to get rid of, of course! But that just makes me hate my own yard sales even more! LOL
